Let The Games Begin

Hello and welcome to everyone.

You should be aware by now that Derry Hill United FC opens it's season this Saturday, September 2nd 2007.

You will see details of when and where your group trains, please review and take care to locate your child's group as some of you will now be training at a different time.

Wendy and myself will be available at the following times to address questions, concerns, kit collection, England ticket collection;-
  • 10:00 - 10:45: Wendy @ Bowood Sports Ground (Derry Hill Dugout)
  • 11:00 - 11:30: Wendy @ Springfields School (adjacent 11 a-side pitch)
  • 12:15 - 12:45: Alan @ Bowood Sports Ground (Clubhouse)
Finally I would like you to remember the following points which will ensure you and your child have an enjoyable and successful season.

The Grounds
  • Neither of our grounds are public facilities and should only be used when accompanied by a Club Coach for official activity
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead if brought to Bowood Sports Ground, dogs are strictly forbidden at Springfields
  • Be extremely careful when leaving Bowood Sports Ground, the A4 is fast and dangerous for joining traffic
The Players
  • Get to the match/training venue on time, and dressed in the appropriate kit
  • Make sure you arrive in time to get boots and shin pads on
  • You will not be able to play if you are not wearing shin pads
  • No jewelry may be worn whilst participating in training or matches
  • Always bring ample water, or preferably, a sports drink to training and matches
The Parents
  • Watch your email for communication from your Team Secretary
  • Respond promptly to match availability requests
  • Remember to check the Club website or the Pitch hotline if weather looks poor
  • Keep football in perspective, it's only a game
  • The game is for the children, let them play
