FA Soccer Stars A Huge Success

Firstly, a big thank you to all the coaches and parents who lent a hand at today's FA Soccer Stars. It was great to see and hear all the words of explanation and encouragement to all the players today, I'm sure this contributed to the effort and skill that was put into each performance. We couldn't have run the event without your enthusiasm and commitment, a big
hand to you all.

I have now completed the consolidation of data and transferred it to the FA Soccer Stars Website where each player's score is calculated and 'Stars' are awarded for their efforts. The great news is that each squad has increased it's overall score from last year's event demonstrating overall improvement of all our squads. This is a wonderful tribute to the effort of
our coaches and players.

A great attendance today, over 90 players came along. This was virtually a full turnout, with just six players missing, three of whom were known to have other commitments and are looking to be assessed in next week's Soccer Stars session with our girls squads. I find this attendance very rewarding and a testament to the programme which each year goes from strength to strength within our Club. I trust the children attend each year in such numbers because they enjoy the activity and outcome (a Certificate of Achievement). Please let me know if you know, or think, differently.

A quick word about the tests, despite being an international assessment programme, I am unaware of any other Clubs within the region that run such an event, and, for those of you that have contact with other Clubs, ask that you contact me if you know of any that do.

All those who attended today will be presented with their Certificate of Participation and Achievement during the Club's End Of Season Presentation at Bowood Sports Ground on the evening of Saturday 18th June. Further details of this event will be published over the coming weeks, stay tuned. In the meantime I have attached a poster which describes all those who
scored the most points or recorded the quickest time within their squad for each drill in the test.

Finally, the squad photos that were taken today will shortly be available for review, and for those that want to, purchase. Once again, more details later, but keep an eye out in your email or ask Tim and Nina in the refreshment hut next time you pop in for a cuppa.
