DHUFC @ England International Schoolboy Match

The U18 teams of the past have featured many future stars, such as Michael Owen and Ryan Giggs, and only last year Manchester United's Chris Smalling was in the England squad. We will be hiring a coach to attend this match. Pickup in Derry Hill at 5pm, return about 11pm.

Reserve your tickets by using the on-line booking form. Ticket numbers are restricted and will be allocated on a first come basis.

'Casual' Players
I am aware of a number of instances where players have brought friends to training after sleepovers. Whilst I understand the convenience it offers to those who are charged with looking after the child this situation puts our coaches in the difficult situation of not wanting to disappoint someone who has 'appeared' at training but for which we have no medical details or parental permission to take part in the activity. This is not a comfortable position for either the coaching team or the committee.

I ask that you do not bring non-members to train on a casual basis at the Club. Anyone wishing to introduce a prospective new member to the Club should go through the usual pocesses of contacting the team coach to make arrangements to attend a training session - this should happen prior to the session happening. An invitation to attend will usually be accompanied by the requirement of the child's parent to complete the relevant paperwork.

I hope you had a great break and got the opportunity to ease yourself back into football this weekend. This is a long session and hopefully one which allows you to catch up with your fixture backlog free of weather breaks. We shall endeavour to keep Bowood Sports Ground open as often as we can.

Our next break from football is 15/16 April and 22/23 April returning to activity on Saturday 30 April.

Kit Orders
We will shortly be placing our next kit order with our supplier. Ensure you have any kit orders back with Catherine Saville before Sunday 13th March. You can find an order form on our website.


New Portable 11 a-side Goals
I am delighted to inform you that we have been successful in our bid to receive a grant towards the purchase of a new set of junior 11 a-side goals. Wiltshire County Council's Calne Area Board (CAB) has awarded us a grant of £1,250 towards the purchase of these goals. The Club has raised funds to make up the shortfall. I would like to thank the Calne Area Board for the support of our Club, it's members and their activity.

I hope to have news on developments for finding some mini-soccer goals to replace our current batch which have seen plentiful use over many seasons. If anyone is interested in sponsoring a set of goals then I would be delighted to hear from you.
