Pete Weston to see Sven!
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that Pete Weston has won a national competition to attend an FA Coaching Session, the highlight of which will be a buffet lunch and Q&A session with England Manager Sven Goran Ericsson. Pete, a founder member of the Club, won the opportunity to attend through an Internet poll for the Pepsi Thirst For Football Challenge. This was the competition we drew to your attention back in April.
On hearing of his win Pete said he was delighted to have been chosen and thanked all of the members who voted for him. His first task is now to clean his football boots which had been put away for the summer, and to sharpen his pencil for an insightful questioning of Sven on why no-one from Swindon Town has been offered the chance to fill the illusive England left midfield position!
Pete will attend the event, which takes place at the famous Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, Buckinghamshire, on August 11th.
Over the past 4 years Pete has been involved coaching many children within the Club, at sometime or other being involved with the Heat, Flames, Phoenix and finally, for the past two seasons, The Derry Hill Fire.
My congratulations go to Pete on a well earned prize and much deserved recognition for the hours, weeks and months of commitment put into coaching teams at Derry Hill and also for the time he invests in Club activities as Vice-Chair.
Thanks to everyone that voted for him, YOU made the difference and we appreciate your support.
