Your Child's Safety
Whilst not wishing to appear alarmist I feel it is my duty to pass on information received today in order to ensure you are aware and can act appropriately. The information came from a neighbouring league and I believe is worthy of your attention.
This is a useful opportunity to remind you that we should all be vigilant. Every week we have strangers in our midst, with spectators and officials from visiting clubs etc. If you see anyone who you feel unsure or uncomfortable about, please take appropriate action to address them. Do not expect Club officials to notice or challenge a stranger. They are usually very busy with the children!
Please note, as parents, you are responsible for your child's supervision apart from the period when the coaches are actually working with them during a training session or game. This means that, if you are not staying to observe a session, you should not leave your child unsupervised until the coach has started the session and you should be there, on the sidelines, to collect your child before the session ends.
I would ask you to think carefully about the appropriateness of arranging to meet your child in the car park. The car parks at both Springfields and Bowood Sports Ground get very busy, are remote from the areas where many of the children play, can be accessed by anyone, and are not supervised.
I hope this information is helpful.
