End Of Season 2005-06
First I would like to say thank you to everyone that made yesterday's End Of Season so successful. Special mention should go to all those folks that turned up to put up the marquess, gazebos, build BBQs etc. Your work was invaluable to us being ready for the evening, I'm just sorry the wind took it's toll on some of your work during the afternoon, leaving tents upside down, with buckled poles and bent frames!
Thanks must also go to all those that prepared and served the food on the day, salad preparation for 400 odd people sounds quite a challenge, one which was addressed admirably.
A real special mention goes to Karen and Gary Venner, and Karen and Chris McCormack, our chefs 'flambe' for the evening. Hot work, at the best of times, but in 28 degrees of heat, over those coals, I'm sure it was good for a weight loss programme!
I must also highlight our resident "Games Meister" for the evening - Colin Bell. It's great to have someone arrange a few calm, subtle games! Thanks Colin, many people once again mentioned how much they enjoyed the games.
Have a great summer and look forward to seeing you when football returns to Derry Hill on Saturday 2nd September 2006.
