It may seem strange congratulating the girls on losing 8-1 today but those who saw the game know how hard they worked against a very strong Swindon Town team. Swindon have a number of School of Excellence players in their team and their first two league games yielded them over 30 goals so everything is relative.

Both sides hit the post on numerous occasions, I think three each, and our girls did enough to make Swindon work very hard. All contributed to a great team effort and if we can play like that against all of the other sides then we will have some great games to watch. Rhiann deserved her goal for a tireless performance, covering every blade of grass, with Rachel not far behind her. Laura made a couple of brave saves bringing applause from both sets of spectators, and all the other girls could hold their heads high.
